Harrisburg, PA -The Harrisburg Downtown Improvement District has joined in the celebration of bike month by purchasing and installing 8 bike racks throughout the immediate downtown area. The bike racks are functional, yet also have an artistic flare having been designed to resemble a bicyclist riding a bicycle.

“As the popularity of biking continues to grow, the new colorful and artistic bike racks make for a bike friendly downtown,” said Todd Vander Woude, Executive Director of the Harrisburg Downtown Improvement District.

Residents, and visitors, as well as daily employees commuting into downtown will notice the bike racks along Front Street, 2nd Street, 3rd Street, 4th Street, and Walnut Street. This is the first phase of a project that will continue later this year with the purchase and installation of more racks. The HDID encourages bicycle riding throughout the entire Central Pennsylvania region.
