The summer of ducks continues.

From 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Aug. 16, Walnut Street in Harrisburg will be converted into a Duck Day Lunchtime Street Carnival complete with games.

It’s all part of the ongoing summer Discover the Ducks Downtownexhibit with 15 artistically painted ducks on display this summer throughout the city.

The Downtown Improvement District and Kamionka Entertainment Group have teamed up to host the carnival which will take place on Walnut Street between Second and Third streets.

Carnival-style games will include a dunk tank with Harrisburg celebrities, and a duck pond where guests will have a chance to win $1,000. Game tickets will be available to purchase at the carnival.

The event will benefit the HKC K-9 Foundation, the Harrisburg Police Bureau’s K-9 unit. The K-9 unit will also be on site at the Carnival to meet and greet the community.

“The Ducks have been a huge hit amongst residents and visitors,” said Leigh Ann M. Urban, Director of Marketing for the Harrisburg Downtown Improvement District. “It’s so great to see families with a map in one hand and a camera in the other capturing photos of themselves and the ducks! The ducks have definitely been a great addition to downtown this summer.”
